SHIPPING- Shipping can be especially stressful on some puppies and we require that you get your puppy to a vet within 72 hours after receiving them, so make your vet appointments before the puppy ever gets to you. We do everything on our end that can be done to avoid any problems prior to them leaving, but once in a while a puppy will stress more than others and can be treated very easily by a vet if done in the first 72 hours. Our puppies are shipped by air. There may situations when shipping by air that unexpected delays happen and rescheduling may be necessary; an example is if temperatures do not meet the criteria to safely ship the puppy due to extreme heat/cold prohibiting puppy's flight. In order to avoid this, we ask that you have a second choice of airports for alternate arrivals in case temps are too hot/cold they have the information to re-route. When shipped by air, please be aware that flights can be cancelled by airlines, and ARE rescheduled by our shippers for the next soonest available flight; delays are also a possibility. We all do our best to see your puppy is safely shipped to you on the day scheduled. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated. PLEASE NOTE: If you pick up your puppy from our facility, prices do not include a travel crate, you will need to bring your own to transport your puppy. My name is Robin and I have always had a passion for raising puppies. I have raised dogs all of my life, but until 10 years ago, I was only a hobby breeder. I enjoyed what I did so much I thought I would do this professionally. I am only a small scale breeder and don't always have puppies available. I only specialize in four breeds, West Highland White Terriers, Bichon Frise and the Cairn Terriers. These are registered with AKC. Now we are raising Carlin Pinchers, which are registered with UABR. Broken Spoke Kennels raises healthy, happy, farm raised puppies that have been started out with a lot of love and attention. We believe that everyone should know the unconditional love of a dog.
We have spared no expense regarding our facility. It is the cutting edge for the safety and comfort of our puppies, which includes 24 hour monitoring. All of our puppies are handled from birth and raised around children and other dogs and even one old cat. This helps to socialize them and also boosts their confidence. We have a strict vaccination and deworming schedule that we adhere very closely to. This is very important to the health and well being of your future puppy. Each puppy is vet checked and certified healthy before they leave us and each has it's own health records. We want to give your puppy a very good start to what will be the beginning of a very long and love filled relationship with you and yours. Broken Spokes Puppies is NOT responsible for any veterinary costs after you receive your puppy. This is now YOUR responsiblilty and just part of puppy ownership to keep up with vaccinations and dewormings. We have no way of knowing what your puppy has been exposed to after they leave us and cannot be expected to accept that liability.
We offer a one year guarantee against "congenital" defects. This never has happened, but in the event that it should, we would offer you the choice of replacing the puppy when one is available or a refund of your purchase price of that puppy.
Much research has been invested in the quality of our dogs. All of our dogs are AKC breed standard and AKC registered and many have champions and international champions and one has several 4 X World Champions.
Feel free to browse through our web site and contact us with any questions. We are not claiming to raise show quality dogs, even though some of our puppies have been bought for show, but just beautiful, breed standard quality dogs and we offer them at a resonable price. We take a lot of pride in what we do and love our dogs very much!
Our dogs have the choice of inside or out, which we feel is much healthier for them. They are not in wire cages, they know what grass, dirt and sunshine feel like to romp and play in. They even have a playpen so the dogs can play in on the really nice days.
WE REFUSE TO SELL TO PET STORES OR BROKERS, WE SELL TO INDIVIDUALS ONLY. WE ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY SALE. Because we don't sell to pet stores or brokers, we are NOT required to keep the USDA or the State licensing it is our choice to keep our licenses, (which costs us hundreds of dollars each year to renew), this is another way for us to stay on our toes. We want the best for our dogs...that's the bottom line.
Broken Spoke Kennels is licensed with the State of Missouri and USDA, and we are members in good standing with the MPBA, (Missouri Pet Breeders Assoc.), Missouri Farm Bureau, and AKC. We have never been written up for any non-compliances and it is a record we are very proud of. Our facility and our records are inspected by these organizations and our vet every year, several times a year and we wouldn't have it any other way. Speaking of the State, just this year, the state is requiring that we pay a state sales tax of 5.725 to people in Missouri. I don't like it, and neither do any of my friends that are also breeders, but we can't do anyhing about it. So be aware of the sales tax if you are from Missouri.
